A Reason, A Season or a Lifetime

This little bit has been in my collection of quotes, poems & such for a number of years. It's something that I like to ponder on form time to time. I find it to be an interesting take on relationships that you build over time with different people. To look back and see what you've learned or how you've grown as a person and to look at who you surrounded yourself with at the various stages in your life.

On a personal note, I feel that I have entered a new chapter in my life. I feel at ease, I've stopped pushing and pulling at life constantly and finally am just letting it flow. Granted, I still have a lot to work on but I'm okay with that and I'm okay with me.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or our and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done.

When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach your something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people any way; and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is say that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

This was beautiful. The only part that I did not fully agree with/understand was under the "Lifetime" section: "Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people any way" Which to me implies that by helping you learn a lesson, this person is doing something that you should love them 'inspite of' rather than 'because of'. Obviously it could go either way, but I didn't like that negative connotation. Otherwise, I think it has it just right! :-)

I love this post, the photo and the snippet! More than that, I like the trend in your recent posts of you getting more and more happy & comfortable with ... you, who you are, where you're going, and what your life is about. YEAH! long may this trend continue =D
