Takara's Recovery

Today Takara went back into the vet at CSU to have her stitches removed and to evaluate how her recovery is coming along at the 14 day mark. I am happy to report that she came back with nearly flying colors, I say nearly since she has a slight build up of fluid around her knee due to sneaky escapes from her little containment area. Otherwise, she is using her leg and is almost 100% weight bearing, tho some lateral motions are still difficult.

We've received many compliments on her behavior and willingness to let the vets examin her without protest and her ability to follow direction. Tho they still use caution by placing her in a musle during the examination of her knee, she always comes back with the highest of praises.

It's going to be a long road ahead as we continue to help her through her recovery. She will be clear to start her physical therapy as soon as the fluid in her knee goes down and other than that she'll remain on very limited activity for the next 6 weeks. After which she can begin longer walks and hopefully begin some training with a trainer.

We belive that she is a wonderful pup and a very wonderful part of our family. Our hope is that with some outside help and influence she will become a more active part in our greater family.

We support Takara's recovery in all senses of the word! I'm so glad she is doing well and look forward to the day when she and Strider can take a walk around the 'hood together. :-)
